The Therapeutic Wellness Practice offers a range of services to support individuals, attorneys, and fellow clinicians. Whether you’re seeking personal therapy, need a professional evaluation, or are working toward clinical licensure, Helen Lynch‑Young, LCSW‑R provides thoughtful, evidence-informed care backed by over 25 years of experience.

Individual Therapy

Helen works one-on-one with adults navigating life’s challenges in a supportive, confidential environment. Sessions are available in person or via secure telehealth.

Common areas of focus:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress

  • Grief and life transitions

  • Addiction recovery and relapse prevention

  • Relationship and communication challenges

Helen’s approach is collaborative, respectful, and rooted in clinical best practices. She draws on modalities such as motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and cognitive-behavioral strategies.

Legal and Workplace Evaluations

Helen is a New York State OASAS-approved provider of evaluations for individuals referred by attorneys, courts, or employers. Each evaluation includes a thorough clinical interview, standardized screening tools when appropriate, and a clear written report.

Evaluation services include:

  • DWI/DUI assessments (NYS OASAS-approved)

  • Substance use evaluations

  • Mental health assessments

  • Gambling disorder screenings

  • Fit-for-duty or workplace-related evaluations (case-by-case)

Evaluations are typically completed in one to two sessions. Reports are delivered promptly and can be sent directly to the referring attorney or agency with client consent.

Individual Therapy

Clinical Supervision & Consultation

 Helen offers supervision for LMSWs, LCSWs, and clinicians working with addiction and problem gambling. She is also affiliated with the NY Council on Problem Gambling as a Clinical Supervisor.

Supervision services include:

  • Ongoing supervision toward licensure

  • Specialized support for clinicians working in addiction, trauma, or legal settings

  • Consultation on clinical documentation, ethics, and client care

  • Supervision groups or individual sessions available (based on interest)

Helen’s supervision style is collaborative and growth-oriented, helping clinicians expand their skills while staying grounded and supported in their work.
